Obsidian, Primeval, and Elite Sunspear are the best looking armors for Dervish in my opinion. Depends on how much you want to spend and what look you prefer. To answer your initial question, therefore, I personally would choose Primeval over Ancient.

Prefer Primeval, especially over Ancient. Elite Sunspear would get an honorable mention.

Seconded. Nothing sucks quite like having spent everything on armor and then changing your mind about it later.

On topic, I'd say Ancient or (if possible) grind Vanguard reputation and get Monument armor.

If everyone said a certain armor and you thought it was ugly, would you still get it so everyone would say, ooh, you are cool!? Here's an idea, check out pictures and see what you like.

It comes down to a matter of taste and not what everyone else likes. I went to wiki and looked at all the armor. Then I chose the one I liked best, which was Primeval. I did the same thing for all my characters. No one can tell you what to pick.

I disagree with the Ancient looking ugly but...

Vabbian is ugly. lol.

I'm gonna go farming in UW today to get some more money, and I think i'll get Primeval.
